cicada killer wasps new
      08/11/08 05:13 PM

Just was wondering if anyone has had any luck in getting rid of them. I've hit them with the Raid and HotShot wasp killer sprays but it seems to not have a very strong effect on them. I know they like the sand /gravel areas epsecially around my pole barn, and paving the area is just not in my list of expenses or priorties. I've checked on the net about them and everything says they aren't a big problem -just a major nusiance and just the sound and size of them gives ya a start Appreciate any assistance

What I've read states they are not harmful to humans. They are large and scary looking, but I love seeing them carrying off a cicada.

Sparrow clutching a cicada while it is going off is a lot like a person with a beeper on whine and vibrate. Fun to watch. Guess some things just have to enjoy in nature. They do not hang around long. Maybe more ear protection.

No fun, change the rules!!!
