Snake Identification? (again)

This snake was in the doorway tonight. He is only about 2 feet long and looks like most of the snakes we see in our tank (pond), about 200 feet away. Can anyone identify him? Think maybe a Texas brown watersnake?

Alan, I'm not sure what that one is, but check out the Audobon (sp?) Guide to Reptiles. Your library probably has it. It's a great field guide.

looks like the tx diamond back watersnake....relatively harmless....unless you are a frog or small fish fry!

the TPWD has a great sire on snakes with lots of clear pics you can view!
