Can I fix my water?
      10/28/07 07:56 AM

Have two problems with our well water and am totally confused about how to fix.
1. Total hardnes 400 ppm
2. TDS 4320 ppm
I built house with two cold water lines, one for toilets and outdoor use and the other feeds sinks and hot water. Pump house about fifty feet from house is big enough for just about anything i might need to add. Water tastes just fine. Any ideas?

Looking forward to the hard work of retirement.

The level of hardness, 23.4 gpg, is not a problem for any correctly sized softener but... You need to know what is in the water causing such high TDS; like sulfates, chlorides, sodium, alkalinity etc.. That can cause a softener to not be able to remove all the hardness.
