copperhead hydrant

We have an old Copperhead hydrant that has started to leak. It is the kind you can repair from above ground. A plastic valve has a chip next to one of the o-rings. (I have replaced the o-rings before) I think this chip is causing the leak. I have been looking everywhere for a replacement part and no one has ever even heard of this type of hydrant. If I can't find a part pretty soon, I will have to dig the whole thing out to replace. Can anyone help??

Have you tried rebuilding the chip part with some silicone or epoxy?

Not yet. We have considered it, but really think a new piece would be better if we could find it!! Do you have a brand of silicone or epoxy you think would work well??

Can't think of a brand name but a little looking at the store should give some indication.
