Clogged Hot water heater
      09/22/05 06:28 PM

The hot water coil in my neighbors oil burner is clogged with minerals. 30 years ago I fixed this in my old house by using some sort of acid, a bucket and a pump. The basic idea was to pump the acid thrugh the coil to get rid of the minerals.
But, I don't recall the details. Does anyone here know how to do this.
Thanks,
Rich

Muratic acid may work. Just exersize caution in it's use. It should be readily available at hardware stores.
