I live on 25 acres with a wet weather creek. Most of the land is very rocky. Trying to get some tips on how to build a pond that won't go dry. I can dam up the creek or dig one on the property. Looking for advise on depth, dam and lining. I live in central Texas and all you see are dry stock ponds...any advise?

The first thing I did when planning a pond was to visit the local Soil and Water Conservation office. It's a gov't service and it's free. The guy came out to my place and showed me the best place to put a pond, and he also had a list of about 30 names of contractors who dig ponds in my area--NE Texas. I called a few contractors, got bids, and had a pond dug last October.
