best new mini p/u truck for milage

whats the best mini pick up for gpm??they dont make a deisel volkswagen any more as this would be perfect.any sugestions.thanks bws

edmunds.com always lists the ford ranger mazda b2300 as the most fuel sipping truck. you need to get the 5 speed and the 4-banger. but if you get a better air filter and a better muffler and a tonnou cover you can but upwards of 35mpg. at least i can.

In the next couple years you'll be seing Toyota's Hybrid technology in SUV's and it will get in small trucks too.

Lightly loaded a small truck should get over 50mpg with their system.
