Ethan (our 57 Dodge p/u with the 315 Poly head V8) is just about ready to go, despite the manifold problems. This morning I figured what the heck, let's see what happens when I turn the key. VAROOM! Instantly, with no hesitation, that old engine roared into life! It was loud, with the manifold not yet hooked up to the exhaust pipe, and I only let it run for a few seconds, but it works! Joy!
And even better news -- I found a good used exhaust manifold off a truck engine! No more trying to bridge that 1" gap caused by trying to make a car manifold work! Things are looking up!
More good news! Ethan goes forward and backward under his own power! I really had some concerns about that LoadFlyte tranny leaving me dead in the water!
