Well, it's been almost a year since I took this, but now that we've got it as our "main photo" I figured I'd post the full version again.
I've got a few more to post as time goes on, and I'm looking for more high quality country photos... for sure some winter photos, since that's coming up.

Ah, a glimpse of the countryside!
Is this the view from your back porch? What is the white line on the back side of the pond? Birds? Snow?

Covered round bales.
This was about 3-4 miles from my house in NY.

Muhammad,
I noticed my picture has been stretched to fill the frame and now it does not look right. Do I need to find a picture that will fill the frame or are you just tweaking and experimenting?

Hmm... you used the photo upload tool, right? It should have let you use a smaller image.
Give me a few minutes to look into it.

It was narrow when I put it in last night and a little while ago I noticed it had gotten fat and blurry.

I've had the same experience looking in the mirror over the past few years.

This should probably be under Suggestions, but as long as I'm here, Muhammad --
Way over there on TBN I've seen some breathtakingly beautiful country living scenes posted by members over the last couple of years. Would you give any consideration to having the CountryByNet.com main photo being something like a picture-of-the-month kinda deal? Might encourage some really nice new shots.

I would very much like to do this. Shortly, we'll have a "photo of the month" submission section... maybe photo of the week if it gets to be more popular.

maybe photo of the week
It occurs to me that if we stick to photo of the month, the CBN wall calendar could be a best seller.

Last year, a couple days after the 9-11 tragedies... I drove into Albany to view their towers that reminded me of NYC... I took this picture and proceeded to drive over to my Grandma's house a few blocks away.
My excuse was to give her a hug... but in reality I needed it then... while I was driving towards her house... I started having tears come down my cheeks...
I suddenly realized my Grandmother had died a couple months prior to this... and I no longer had her to consult... and hug anymore... [sad]

John, That picture also brings to mind 9 11 for me. A few day after that day, they were saying that one of them went over Albany, then turned to NYC. If something went wrong, they could have easly hit our towers in Albany. It was kind of a wake up call to me that says it was real, and happend in the US.
But on a lighter note, it also reminds me of when I was a kid. Driving to Albany at night. You would round the corner on I90 about where exit 8 is now, and all the lights of the city would come into view. That is a good thought that I will always remember.

This is a picture overlooking the bucolic and serene Cambridge, NY valley....taken from one of our farm fields that we call the 'Sound of Music' hill. The very far hills are the foothills of Vermont's Green Mountains.

Excellent pictures, Bob. Looks like a picture that you would see on the box lid of one of those thousand piece jigsaw puzzles.

Taken last fall in Southeast Louisiana. This is my neighbor's field just after he had baled it. Trees here usually don't show color this well but it was an unusual autum. Please feel free to use it on Country By Net!
Nice new site!

If your using IE 6, it has a setting to resize image files to fit your browsers window automaticly, which might be what is happening to you.

From last winter, could not keep up with the shoveling ( shovel on bank of pond ) so they'll skate through a little snow anyhow.
