looking for a Boston Terrier
      10/15/03 12:24 PM

Hello, I am a settled 40+ yr old truck owner/driver seeking a
companion. After researching many breeds & talking with many other
B/T dog owners, I have found a B/T to have the personality that would
be most compatible as a travel mate.

I realize that there are many rescuses out here with good intentions
and some questionable (They obtain a free dog and then sell it for
$250+), pretty good profit in my book. To me this isn't much better
than a puppy mill.

I am looking for/would prefer a healthy young to middle aged B/T that
is house broken, crate trained and has been socialized, a well
adjusted, happy dog. In return... this beautiful dog would travel the
country and experience many adventures. At home I have 5+ acres with
20 + surrounding acres to play and frolic around with me. It doesn't
matter if it has been fixed or not.

So if you have a healthy Boston that you are looking to find a caring
home for what ever reason, please e-mail me at Tndriver_2@yahoo.com
and we will talk.

I did have a Rottie/Bullmastiff mix for many yrs which I had to adopt
out to a good home 10 yrs ago due to moving out of state and begining
of my trucking career. Now its time to find a new little buddy.

wow 250 for a rescue! we paid 150 and it was worth every penny. they do pay for all the vet bills, and socialization time, and food. you should look at http://www.petfinder.com
then look up boston terrier and there will be tons i am sure.
hope this helps.

I don't have an issue with paying for expenses occured, but I was told by some rescuse that they sometimes get animals free to place in a good home for someone else and then they turn around request $250-$350 for the animal.

I'm not looking for a breeder, in fact I don't even care if the animal has already been altered or papers, I'm just offering a good home and to some people, that is more important that making a profit.

I'll be checking the dog pound next week to see what I can find.

You ain't going to believe this but....

I was offered a Boston this evening from a friend that was approached by a friend of hers that aquired one 18 months ago (at the time I was thinking about getting a dog) and remembered that I was inquiring about them back then

Young male, has papers, altered at 6 mos, crate trained, house broken, loves to ride. The dog even has a doggie seat (like a car seat for kids), never seen one before... and all the hardware that goes alone with being a doggie owner.

I go Wens. to meet the dog and see if we are going to get along before I accept it. Apparently the dog will come with EVERTHING... FREE !
I feel a little guilty, I will offer some money for him, but from what I gather, she just want a good home for him.

Talk about things ment to be.... She got him when I was thinking about getting one 18 mos ago and for her to think of me now after all this time and me actually persueing one..

It's been almost 12 yrs since I owned a dog... Bear was one of a kind. This little guy will have some big shoes to fill

Good news, I got my new buddy... sort of...

The dog (Boston Terrier) is a 3 yr old male. The elderly owners were both killed in a car wreck this past Oct 10th.
He is at a BT rescue in Texas right now and as soon as I can get down there to pick him up ... I'll be there.

BTW his name is benjamin Cartwright. I might just call him Benny for short
