laying water line
      07/27/04 05:46 PM

I need to trench in and lay about 300' of water line from my well house. There will be about 150' going in opposite directions to two stock stanks with automatic waterers. I don't really need high pressure or flow, just enough to fill up the troughs. I have never done a project like this so I am clueless as to what I need to use for pipe. I located a trencher I can rent but what do I use for pipe? PVC with multiple connections or do the make some sort of a flexible tubing that is in rolls? What size of pipe/tubing do I need?

Yes, and I'd probably use 1".

My buddy was singing the praises of "crimp Pipe" the other day. It's less brittle than PVC and more forgiving in cold weather. I haven't tried it yet, but would like to hear from soneone who has.

I've laid about a thousand miles of black poly...great stuff, fast and easy to lay...what in particular are you wanting to know about it??
