I was told by some guys putting up new poles that you can buy old ones at the "Wixom Pole Yard" for $1 per foot. It is on Wixom Rd. just north of I-96. Just in case you need some for a project.

That's the same price my brother paid down here in Texas to get a couple of the old poles from our electric co-op.

We bought some 3 or four years ago here for .25 a foot as they were replacing the lines here. I think new would be a different though. I guess it all depends on the age and condition also. A dollar a foot doesn't sound to bad especially compared to other building materials.

Patrick, I've forgotten what the price was on new ones, but it was way up there. My brother paid $1 a foot for used ones, but in very good condition, and we used them as the beams for a 4' wide foot bridge to an island in his pond.

You can get brand new treated ones in Marion at the plant that makes them. Don't remember what the cash and carry price is.
