Was bent over working on my sons bike. A rooster took an interest in one of my hens and next thing I knew she had jumped onto my back to get away from the rooster. Course the rooster lost interest immediately. From then on this hen would come running anytime I was near so I could pick her up. She would sit on my shoulder as long as I allowed her and the rest of the time would be underfoot so much I had trouble walking without stepping on her or tripping over her. She became a pet until she died recently.
Next post I will tell about some of my other poultry pets if folks are interested.
Ours do some pretty dumb things at times, and other times they're brilliant. It's hilarious to see them round the corner at full speed when you call them for vegetable peelings.

Hey there Jazz, thanks for the welcome. Yea, the critters can be fun to watch, thats for sure. I love birds, so am definately partial to poultry, whether it be chickens, ducks, geese, whatever. Had a pet goose until this spring that I called my body guard. I had hand raised him as he had been an orphan. Kept him in a box in the house and then in a small pen on the porch until he was big enough to join the rest. But from then on, when I was outside it was a contest betwen him and the hen who would be my escort. Reached the point that no one could come near me outside when the goose was around without being attacked. He would go after them if they got too close. I would sit on the steps and he would climb up next to me or up into my lap and just sit there. A full grown grey chinese breed. Big goose. Wouldnt even let the dogs near me. He had them buffaloed pretty good.
