How to feed the dog, but not the sheep?
      09/25/05 10:22 PM

We have 3 male alpacas, and a 10 mo female great pyrenees. We recently added 4 shetland sheep to the mix. The shetland sheep cleaned out the dog's self-feeder two days in a row. Any ideas on how I can set it up so I can feed the dog and not the sheep?

I'm kinda stumped.

not too many replies so far so I'll take a shot. is there any way you can make a platform that the dogs would have to jump up onto but would be too tall for the sheep to get up. If you like junk I have a mental picture of an old pickup box flipped upside down or something similar.

I had a same problem with my goats cleaned out the dogs food. What i came up with is a automatic dog feeder that feed the dog once or twice a day at certain time. Currently I feed my dog once a day at 11:00 by then the goats are in they shed and the dog can take their time to eat. I hope this info will help you.
