Get free range chickens to range in the same pasture. In a short while there won't be a tick left, and you'll have lots of the best eggs ever!!!

In my area, the coyotes will have the "best eggs ever" and a saturday night chicken dinner to boot.

Yea I was thinking the same thing. (How can you control ticks by feeding the coyotes?)

I haven't tried it yet, but I've read that Guinea Fowl are the best tick predators around AND they are supposed to be pretty good at avoiding being eaten by foxes, coyotes, etc... since they can fly and will roost in trees. My friend tried them and they were great at catching the bugs, BUT he made the mistake of ordering JUMBO Guineas which apparently don't fly as well as the standard sized ones. The flock only lasted a couple of months.

Larry, a neighbor had several guineas when we bought our place in the country and something, presumably coyotes, got all of them one summer, so after a couple of years, he decided to get a half dozen again and none of them last 2 months, so I'm not so sure they're very good at avoiding being eaten.

Years ago we had a neighbor on the other side of a bush get some guinea hens and late one day I could swear I heard some children calling Help, help. Well I tromped through that bush and wasted a couple hours searching for kids to find out it was these darn birds.

I have over 30 guineas free ranging my property. They need to be kept penned up for the first 12 weeks before you let them loose. They will come back to the pen every night. If you let them roost in the trees they won't last very long. The predators like them better than chickens.
