My fault. I left a few sacks of feed on the garage floor too long--and then found ants and weevils. I dusted the outsides with diatomacious (sp?) earth, wrapped them in a tarp and stored them off the ground in the sun for a week. The ants are gone, but the weevils multiplied. I poured some feed on the ground and the chickens seemed to feed on both bugs and feed with no ill effects. I guessing it's still fine to feed the chickens but would appreciate any comments. Thanks in advance. -Jonathan

You and the chickens can eat the weevils. They were in the feed to begin with and just hatched out. Try making Mexican cornbread with some chili powder and no one will know for sure what's in there.

Chickens are supposed to eat bugs, so the weevils are just a bonus to them. A little extra protein. Won't hurt 'em at all, in fact they'll be good for the chickens.
