Pasture equine toy

If you are thinking about getting a ball or something for your horse/mules to play with, give a boat dock bumper a try. I bought one with a 90 degree bend at the end for a place to bite onto it. It is self inflating, tough and cheaper than the real thing.

Safe to leave in the pasture, compared to the EggButt ball with the loop handle which I thought the mule had a chance of slipping one of his hooves into.

I tossed one out for the mule last fall and thought it would get lost in the snow but I was wrong. He played with it all winter and found his own place to store it, in one of the hay racks.

I got my horses a "Jolly Ball" at our local tack shop. It's a very sturdy rubber ball (about the size of a soccer ball) with a rubber handle. They love it. They play with it a lot. They carry it around and throw it. Sometimes one picks it up and the other two chase the one that has it. They seem to invent their own games with it. It cost about $20, but it's worth it. They haven't damaged it in over a year, and they play with it a lot.

Rich,
Sounds like your horses could challenge the Budweiser Clydesdales in that one commercial

Interesting, Fred. I don't know the commercial, as I almost never watch TV. Working full time, starting up a farm, and renovating a house don't leave any time for TV.

What do the Clydesdales do in the commercial? Sounds like I might have to try to watch some TV to see it.

Figures that I'd watch TV to try to catch a commercial with horses!

They've been showing it the last couple of years during NFL games. Sometimes the commercial is better than the game. The horses are playing football in a field while two cowboys watch. The horses line up and are snorting and rearing like they are trying to block each other and one kicks a football between a couple of telephone poles. The one cowboy asks the other one if they always do that and is told, "nope, they usually go for two".

Thanks!

I guess I'm missing some good commercials by not watching TV!
