Weed identification
      06/10/03 01:00 PM

I've been to all the weed ID sites but I can't find this one:

Tall and single-stem, about 1' tall right now, if you mow it it branches to multi-stem

Maybe a hundred narrow 1/2" long leaves all along the stem, very bright yellow-green

Forms a single yellow flower at the top of the stem about the size of a dime.

I need to know what to spray it with, throw some weed names out for me to try?

can't help to ID the weed, but try going to or calling you're local cooperative extention. They should be able to ID it for you.

My experience is that RoundUp doesn't require named introductions before it kills a weed.

According to the UCDavis site I have Pineapple-weed which gets it's name from the pineapple fragrance it releases when crushed or mowed which I thought was more of a cedar smell but since that they mention it, it really do. My problem is I'm trying to kill the weed without hurting what clover I have which most herbicides will kill. I think its time to rig up a wick bar applicator. Thanks for the link fivestring.

Kinda sad, I've been battling with this weed for four years it look like.

Looks kinda like Pineappleweed but when crushed its more of a slight lemon/cedar smell rather than a pineapple smell this weed is supposed to give off, and Pineappleweed is supposed to be easy to kill but this one ain't.

It's widely scattered within my pastures which are all bermuda now that I've hit them with MSMA, 2,4-D, Grazon, and Ally over the years trying to control these weeds. They might get burnt a little but come back after the next good rain. At first I thought it only branched out after being mowed but I plucked this one from a fenceline that hadn't been cut this year. Here's a picture if anybody can help me?!?
