Squash? Gourd? Invasion of the body snatchers?
      06/13/07 11:48 AM Attachment

Can anyone identify this plant? It came up as a volunteer from mulch out of our compost heap.

It has taken over the garden. We need to know if it will take over the yard, the house and eventually kill us.

I think I have seen those in the market before. Don't get too worried until they start to look a lot more human or you find an empty one with human looking tracks leading away from it but none leading toward it.

Thanks for that first web link, Jim. That site is 'everything you always wanted to know about squash, but were afraid to ask'. They all look edible. Now that second site, I dunno. Them thar Frenchies eat some mighty peculiar things. That squash looks more "warty" than the ones we have growing. Ours are just "bumpy". I may be contacting Mohammad to put an ad on the site a little later. Get your bumpy, decorative gourds right here!
Pat, we've got petroleum exploration going on in our area, so any of those folks that turn up missing wouldn't put me in a blue funk.

But I think you want to spell it "Muhammad".
