It worked! I made up a length of PVC pipe with a noose on the end. The free end of the noose runs up the middle of the pipe, terminating with a handle. You slip the noose over the snake and pull the handle. I used it once this year, and thought it worked just OK. But now I'm thinking it is pretty good because Mrs. Jazz used it yesterday afternoon to nab a 4+ foot rat snake that was in her potted fern. It was using the fern as a stepladder to get to a nest of baby birds, and Terri wouldn't have any of that!

And no, she didn't kill it. She dropped it into a bucket and moved it up the road a bit.

No. I think I saw something like it, years ago, on some wildlife show. I'm most impressed that Terri was able to use it.

Why don't you post a picture of your device? I'd like to see it and maybe build one myself. Would you mind?

I'll try to remember to do that, Lee. I'm still trying to figure out for what I tied this string around my finger. It's been here for about 3 months now.

I could have used that yesterday but I decided to use the 20 gauge instead.

You know if you replaced the cord with some 1/8" wire and pulled a little harder.....

Hey jazz, that's pretty neat, I have always wondered if something like that would work, I guess you proved it will. Thanks for posting the pic. Stoney
