Building small tack room in the barn
      04/08/05 02:26 PM

I am building a tack room in my barn. I finally can get the saddles and stuff out of my basement. My wife wants this room insulated and heated. The room will be about 10X15. I have seen these vent free propane heaters for garages. I'm just wondering how long at keeping the temp say at 50 degrees would one of these things run on a 100lbs propane tank. Temperature around here sometimes gets to 0 f.

Thanks in Advance for any suggestions.

My office/tackroom at the barn is 15x40. I have a regular furnace/air conditioner unit in mine. I use less than 200 gallons per year to heat this. I keep the heat at 60 unless we are there and then turn it up to 70 or more.

Thanks doc. I should be able to get quite a bit of heating out of a 100 lb tanks then. I don't plan on heating to 60 but just to keep it from freezing.
