    Default Old time sayings

    What are some of your favorite old time sayings? As our family was driving back from town the other day, the sun was setting real pretty and I thought of the saying 'red at night, sailors delight; red in the morning, sailor take warning.' Let's hear yours.

    How about, I'm your mom and I said so, I heard this when I was growing up and now I hear it again with my wife. I can't think of many others right now. I can't wait to hear others and see if they bring back memories.

    "Don't count your chickens before the eggs hatch". How many times did I hear that from my folks - and how many times have I said it to my kids!

    Free iphone apps are worth every penny you paid for them. (OK, so it's not a really old saying.)

    Here's a couple of my favorites: " Making it your job don't make it right", “He's so crooked that when he dies they’ll have to screw him in the ground”, and “He knows more ways to take your money than a roomful of lawyers”

    Don't put all your eggs in one basket; As American as apple pie; She's as sweet as sugar/honey; A man may work from sun till sun, but a woman's work is never done; Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me; You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar; Take time to stop and smell the roses; A stitch in time, saves nine; He's as strong as an ox; Like a bull in a china shop; Make hay while the sun shines;
    Whew! O.K., gotta quit...my memory bank is overdrawn!
