    Default Collections

Does anybody collect coins or stamps? I don't hear about it any longer. I used to collect coins and stamps when I was younger and now that my kids are growing, I hope they become interested so I can pass them on to them.

Do you have a special collections? Do you share this passion with your family?

I collect neither coins nor stamps. I don't send post mails very often, even when the email service hadn't existed yet. Collecting stamps or coins is a good hobby though.

I used to collect matchbooks, especially from hotels. I used to have a very nice collection with match heads in different colors. I rarely see matchbooks now, and I have lost my collection...

Oh, I used to, all the way from childhood through my young adult period. It's just so time consuming that I stopped, although I will still cut away a stamp if I know I don't have it.

I had a fairly large stamp collection back in the day before I got married. I specialized in US and the British Commonwealth. I had a friend who was a small stamp dealer and he kept an eye out for specials or someone who was trying to unload a collection. I sold most of it off many years ago but kept some of it. A few years ago I picked up a whole box of stuff at a yard sale for a buck. It's all packed up right now waiting for the time to sort it out and organize it.

I inherited my granddad's coin collection. It has some really old coins, I would like to go see someone so that I can see if any are worth anything and if I should have them insured or something.

I collect coins from different countries that I visited. The value is not that much but I will have remembrance on the place I've visited. My future grand children can also look at this current coins as these things might not be available in the future.

At one point, I used to collect TV Guides, but stopped because it was getting ridiculous. I understand the pics collection, and I am glad there are digital means now because it can get out of hand quickly. I was collecting DVDs of movies and TV series, but once it is started to get too much, I found Netflix and the only large thing is my instant queue. I have a pack rat personality, and have to keep myself in check. I have collected several other things, but as time passes, I realize I have to curb myself. The stamps and coins are the ones I consider of real value because it does represent historical stuff. At the rate we are going, pretty soon we will not have stamps or coins any longer.
