Default How much is firewood going for in your area?

Has anybody bought firewood yet this year? I miss living in a wooded area - it was so much easier when we could just get it ourselves. I haven't looked into it yet around here, but I have a feeling it's going to be high.

I haven't bought any this year but I know last year it was about $50 for a truck load (pick-up truck). Seems kind of high to me but we haven't actually had to buy any in years.

$50 a truck load is a pretty good price where I am at. Of course a lot of people here have moved to using wood burning stoves to heat their houses here so there is a lot of demand for it.

Here it is $60 if you pick it up for a face cord and $70-$75 if you get it delivered. We are thinking of selling wood but not sure if we need to claim the money we earn on our taxes. Wood is expensive these days. I love going out and cutting it though!

In Sonoma County (Northern California) it is very expensive-$250-350 per cord, without stacking!

Here in Missouri it is going for $90.00 to $105.00 per cord, delivered and stacked......

It depends a lot on what tree species you go with. Here in North Idaho, Western Larch is the prized species for firewood. We cut 4 cords ourselves and bought one cord for $150.
