    Yes, growing your own is the way to go if you have the time! That way you know its organic and it's also much cheaper than buying even non-organic food.

    The big thing is organic doesn't have the yields that using traditional methods do. And organic pesticides/herbicides are not as effective as modern ones, they require more lbs/acre so I'm not sure if thats a good thing or not. So while on the small farms it is possible to get away with being organic, you need to drive up prices to remain profitable. Good feelings do not put fuel in the tractor, and they do not pay the bills.

    All the seed you pick up in the store (organic or not) is a GMO. There have been thousands of years of selected breeding to get to where we are now, and that is the heart of what a GMO is. So we need to get away from any sort of fear of GMOs and big business fears, because there is no escaping it.
