    Default Crock Pot

I roasted a chicken in my crock pot yesterday and then used the drippings and juice for chicken soup. My wife thought it was strange that I used all of it instead of making the broth. Anyone else?

You got some extra fat with that broth.

When we cook chicken in our Slow Cooker (Crock Pot) we usually use the chicken and the stock separately.

Like yesterday we cooked a chicken in the Slow Cooker and used the chicken breast for Chicken Dopiaza, and will use the leg meat and some of the stock for a soup tonight.

As for the rest of the stock, that will get frozen for another time.
